This grand, fully restored single-family house is located in the heart of Thomasville GA. Built in 1857 by John Stevens and F.H. Butler shortly after purchasing 4 acres of land. It is one of the finest Ante-Bellum Greek Revival style cottages in the region and is located within the Dawson Historic District. Dawson with the Thomasville History Center right next door.

The Stephens Butler House is an expansive, gracious dwelling with tall ceilings and large scaled rooms that open up to a private back yard with pool, porches and landscaping. The old house was fully restored to its original, authentic beauty. All the doors, windows, trim and floors are original to the house. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms on the first floor and 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom on the second floor. The house is completely modernized with all new systems, WIFI, kitchen and bathrooms. Authentic and unique southern amenities fill the home.

The house has had many owners and colorful guests. At the close of the Civil war the Baron and Baroness von Stralendorff of Germany resided here and hosted celebrities such sculptress Elizabeth Ney Henry McIntyre Herbener. The inventor of the “Cross Your Heart Bra” owned the house during the 60’s and 70”s.
